The Ascend erotica series I shot for Nerve was raw, documentarian, and basic. My fellow troublemakers and I invaded rooftops, setup a blanket and some music, and took pictures of what happened. But when I went to shoot the fashion story for Metropop inspired by the rooftop locations, I was faced with a different set of problems. Fashion requires clothes. Duh. No, it requires lots of clothes. That means a stylist. And makeup and hair stylists. And assistants. And lighting equipment, models, blah and etc. So it can quickly become a zoo. Bringing this zoo on location, at night, to quasi-illegal rooftop locations, with no budget, and tight time constraints is well near impossible.

Clayton James Cubitt disseca em seu blog o processo de criação do ensaio acima. Compondo digitalmente fotos de modelos em estúdio com locações nos telhados de Nova Iorque, o resultado é belíssimo e até natural (na medida que um editorial de moda consegue ser natural).

É preciso registro na Nerve pra acessar o conteúdo, mas vale a pena o contratempo. Dependendo do local de trabalho, definitivamente não é seguro.
